Update 3:
Honey has shown great improvement and is being released from the hospital today!!! We are hoping with medication and follow up care she should be ok! We still have some testing to deal with going forward and a large bill for her weekend long vet stay with tests, meds, special food ect. She will still require more tests as she improves to make sure we’ve killed all the bacteria and she makes a full recovery. We are collecting items for an online auction to help us recuperate these funds and continue follow up care. If there’s anything you are able to donate new or gently used items, please reach out and we will make arrangements for pick up! (Regina too!!) Thank you so much to all.
Update 2:
Honey is stable, eating no vomiting. We are treating bacteria with iv and tablet antibiotics and will recheck those results Monday. The bills are obviously Still mounting with the longer hospitalization, but to know she is doing well is such a relief! We want to thank everyone so much for the support so far!
Update 1:
Overnight Honey has emptied all of her bowels and there’s no longer a suspect of a blockage !!! she’s still going to require hospitalization to figure out exactly what is going on and provide supportive care and antibiotics via IV. Thank you everyone for all of your donations, hopes, Prayers and sending good vibes. We will keep you updated. We are definitely not completely out of the clear but at least a blockage is ruled out!!
Original Post:
Do you remember little Honey, pictured here with her buddy Buck? Honey has come back into care and is in the hospital. The bill is climbing significantly, and we don’t have the answers yet. Honey may have a bowel obstruction that requires surgery, without help we will not be able to afford the surgery period. We just cannot afford upwards of $5000.
Today we wait. We wait and hope her bowel empties on its own overnight while under observation. If her bowels empty, we are dealing with some type of gastrointestinal issue. If they do not, she requires surgery which is beyond our reach and beyond most people’s reach, especially this time of year. We are desperate to save Honey’s life. She is only 6 months old and missing her partner Buck so badly, and he her. They’ve been together since the start.
Even without surgery, the bills are adding up really fast. We are in the thousands with testing as it is and has depleted most of our funds. We are asking out of desperation, please if you can help in any way, please help Honey!

Kannata Valley Kats Rescue is thrilled to introduce our "Cats for Seniors" program, designed to bring companionship and joy to seniors aged 65 and older. This special initiative pairs our long-term adoptable cats with loving seniors in a foster-style arrangement.
Here’s how it works:
● Seniors provide a temporary or permanent home to one of our rescue cats.
● It’s a foster-first program, meaning no obligation to adopt—but if you fall in love and want to make it official, we call that a "foster fail," and we celebrate it!
● All supplies, support, and vet care are provided by Kannata Valley Kats Rescue.
Our goal is to give these incredible cats a loving environment while enriching the lives of seniors with the unconditional love and companionship that only a cat can provide.
If you or someone you know is over 65 and would love the company of a furry friend, reach out to us today! Let’s give these deserving cats—and our cherished seniors—a second chance at happiness!
Edly was found at the Eddy Golf course but was never claimed. It is a shame because he is the sweetest boy. He cannot get enough cuddles! If you’re looking for a cuddle buddy this is your guy! Long days of endless snuggles, purrs, and affection await you if you take this sweet mature kitty home.
If you are interested in adopting Edly head on over to our adoption page for more information.
When you adopt an animal, you are saving lives. Adopting makes room for another animal to come into our care, reducing the homeless cat population.
Not only will you become a hero, but your adoption fee will be the best money you ever spend. Kannata Valley Kats adoption fee is $65. This includes spay/neuter, de-worming, first set of vaccines, microchip and a welcome package.
Head to our Adoption page to check out the cats and kittens currently available for adoption!
In order to keep the work of Kannata Valley Kats moving forward there is always a need for financial support.
