Our superstar Roger was trapped in Saskatchewan Beach this past summer. Once in care we found that this wouldn’t be our typical TNR (trap neuter release) situation. Roger appeared emaciated and was drooling. He was quickly taken to the vet, and it was discovered that he was suffering from an auto immune condition called stomatitis. This caused Roger to have severe mouth inflammation and infection, meaning he was having a really hard time eating the dry food provided at the feed stations. KVK had to make a quick decision to end this boy's suffering; he was quickly tested for typical diseases that present with this condition. We were happy to report he was healthy otherwise! KVK’s incredible followers responded immediately, flowing in donations to help us get the surgical intervention this boy needed to save his life. Behind the scenes Roger was placed in a special foster home where his foster mom was committed to saving his life, no matter how long he would have to be in care. Roger was feral and needed a lot of special time spent to help him adapt to a home life! On September 15th, 2023, Roger had all of his teeth extracted under anesthesia, and came out bright on the other side! Roger has been continuously making progress in healing and in becoming a regular house cat!
